Describe a time when you tried to do
something but was not very successful
You should say:
When it was
What you tried
Why it was not very successful
And how you felt about it

二、Part3延伸问题

1 What's your definition of success?
2What things do children try to succeed in?
3Which do you think is more important for people to become successful? Hard work or
opportunities?
4Do you think people will be happy if they don't
have any goals to achieve?

三、相关话题语料

I would like to talk about the experience that I crammed for my lame mathematics(恶补我蹩脚的数学) in a training agency when I was in high school. You know, the second year of senior high school was of paramount importance in(具有至关重要的作用) the whole learning stage. However, on every exam, my maths scores would drag my total marks down(拖后腿). In order to achieve a leap(飞越) in my maths performance, my parents spared no efforts to(竭尽全力) find a famous school and so-called experienced teacher, and  entered for(报名参加) one-year course.

For one thing, the school was extremely far away from my home, which meant I was forced to(不得不) take nearly one hour’s bus to commute to and from the classroom. For another, I needed to get up at 6:30 in the morning to avoid being late for the class and would not return to my home until the evening, really toilsome(辛苦的).

In spite of my efforts, my maths scores didn’t improve greatly. In my mind, the reason why this result came into being(出现) was exam-oriented teaching method(应试教育方法) and exercise-stuffed education mode(充斥大量练习的教育模式) provided by the school. I knew this practice might increase my scores in a short time, but I demonstrated little interest and enthusiasm towards maths. You know, interest is the biggest driving force(动力) to enhance one’s academic performance.

I hoped that somebody could find the spark(火花) for the maths in my heart, and then I was able to start a prairie fire with this spark on my own(星星之火可以燎原). As a consequence, if parents wish their children to behave well in their schooling, the best way to achieve it is to arouse their interest in the courses they are engaged in and help them figure out the charm of study rather than force them to memorize knowledge mechanically(死记硬背).

四、总结

根据五月换题季的前面三场考试来看,在雅思5~8期间极有可能出现该类话题,正在备考的考鸭们可以提前进行复习,背诵相关物料,如果中招后也可以灵活进行应对。
