Describe a time you saw something interesting on social media
You should say:
When it was
Where you saw it
What you saw
And explain why you think it was interesting
A couple of months ago, while I was surfing the Internet, I saw a very interesting video on YouTube. When I was watching this video, I found out that it had been being watched by millions of viewers, and it also had received thousands of likes. So obviously, this video went viral(走红)。
In that video, I saw a guy, an Asian guy, called Uncle Roger. So basically, he slammed(抨击) the BBC food presenter(美食节目主持人) Hersha for her unconventional/unprofessional way of cooking fried rice. In that video, Uncle Roger mentioned something that Hersha did wrong. The first thing is that she didn’t wash the rice before cooking, which is a big mistake in Chinese cooking. And second, she literally drained(沥干) the rice after boiling, which is horrible. Besides, I have to say that, just like Uncle Roger mentioned, Hersha’s scrambled egg(炒蛋) was somehow overcooked(煮老了).
So basically, I would say it was quite fun to watch this video because finally, somebody came out(挺身而出) and said no to those so-called “Chinese food” in foreign countries. I remember when I was traveling in Western countries, I found out that their Chinese food was not that authentic(地道的) or not authentic at all. But those food presenters and cooks think they know it all(无所不知), but actually, they’re ruining(糟蹋) our food, just like Hersha did to the egg fried rice. I was so glad that somebody could say the truth to the rest of the world and let them know what real Chinese food looks like.
