Describe an interesting animal
You should say:
What it looks like
When you saw/knew it for the first time
Where it lives
Why it is interesting
1、该类话题属于旧题重现，在今年上半年中以“describe a time when you got close to wild animals。”出现过。
I’ve seen many interesting animals before, but when it comes to my favorite, it has to be pandas, because I’m a real panda lover. We know that the panda is actually a bear species native to China. Sometimes we use the term “giant panda” to distinguish it from another species, the red panda, which looks very different. Cute as they are, pandas have black fur around their eyes, across their bodies, and over their ears. Due to the reason that they eat a lot and move so slow, pandas are always chubby(圆滚滚的).
Sichuan province, which is also my hometown, is recognized as the habitat of pandas. As pandas are so vulnerable(脆弱的), our government has invested millions of money in saving them. You could see that most of the pandas nowadays are taken good care of in the breeding centers(繁育中心). But it is reported that some pandas are still living out there in the wild. We know that pandas feed on(以…为食) bamboos, like bamboo shoots and bamboo leaves, so I guess if these pandas search for food for their own in the wild, chances are high that they might suffer starvation(饥饿).
As a real panda lover, I went to one of the breeding centers several years ago. I don’t remember exactly when, but that breeding center makes me feel like it’s so different from any traditional zoo that I’ve ever been to, where animals are kept in cages and don’t have any freedom. When I was there, those pandas were goofing around(四处晃荡), climbing up and down the tress, and even sleeping in the enclosure(场地). But I was totally fine with it, because visitors were not allowed to have any interaction with these pandas. Just by looking at them could make my heart melt(融化人们的心).
Forgive me for being over-excited, cuz I just couldn’t stop talking about how much I love pandas. They’re so cute! And somebody has told me recently that, the reason for the worldwide panda-mania could be the fact that they’re black and white and Asian, making them the most anti-racism(反种族歧视) thing in the world.
