Although more and more people read news on the Internet, newspapers will remain the most important source of news. Do you agree or disagree?
P1: context + paraphrase the question + my opinion(disagree)
P2: newspapers (byproduct of printing industry, witnessed booming/soaring growth)
P3: online news (ubiquitous, everywhere, timely, promptly)
P4: conclusion (newspapers will give way to onlinenews)
The soaring development of the Internet has enabled a growing number of people to read news online. Even in this context, some people still believe that newspapers will continue to be the primary source of news. As I see it, indispensable though newspapers are in our daily life, they will gradually lose the lead and give way to online news which proves to be much more accessible and more timely.
True, newspapers, the byproduct of the printing industry, have long assumed a leading role in journalism before the emergence of online media and reading newspapers has once become a part of everyday life scene. In the past decades, the printing industry has witnessed dramatic growth. All sorts of machines, printers, scanners, copiers, to name but a few, have made it possible to produce newspapers in bulk and in time, catering to people's daily need for reading news and thus securing newspapers the leading position in transmitting news. However, the printing industry has gradually slowed its pace of development and the digital industry has, on the other hand, grown much faster.
As the digital industry and the online media is growing by leaps and bounds, online news are now becoming much more popular among news readers owing to its ubiquity and timeliness. As far as ubiquity is concerned, news is now everywhere on the Internet, people can read news whenever and wherever they feel like doing so. In China, people have access to online news in many apps like QQ, Wechat, Microblog, etc. In addition, without needing to be printed out, online news will be transmitted more promptly. For both reasons above, people can read the latest news online by simply taking out their phones and turning on apps wherever they are.
In conclusion, online news will soon overtake newspapers as the major source of news for the reason that it is easier to be accessed and faster to be transmitted.
