It is hard to deny that mobile phones have become an integral part of today's communications. Some people hold the point that the increasing use of computers and mobile phones has a negative impact on the language skills of young people. Arguments are varied thanks to the apparent differences that exist in the values. I, in the discussion, tend to agree that it does cause some disadvantages. First and foremost, from the perspective of abbreviations, an increasing number of young people tend to use them to send massage, and there are software and applications that can automatically complete spelling or correct misspelled words or grammatical errors. As a result, many of them gradually lost the ability to spell the most commonly used words and often forgot how to write the correct words. In addition, influenced by abbreviations and grammar, young people tend to neglect the accuracy when writing articles. Therefore, the writing ability of young people may be affected.

Secondly, it is time-consuming to indulge in computer and mobile chat, resulting in reduced reading time. What is worse, when people read electronic articles, their attention will be distracted and gradually lead to the loss of interest in reading. Considering the immediacy of electronic information, readers often lack in-depth thinking when reading, ignoring the structure and consistency of the article, resulting in a decline in reading and writing ability.

There is no doubt that some online terms and abbreviations can improve the literacy of young people to some extent. For example, many abbreviations are also included in the dictionary, and the use of these abbreviations can also improve creativity to a certain extent; And e-books can attract young people who are not interested in print media. Unfortunately, young people nowadays tend to enjoy the process of chatting with others rather than develop language skills.
In a nutshell, I hold the opinion that too much use of computers and mobile phones for communication will indeed have a negative impact on young people's reading and writing skills.
